The Bible has been a document which has not been looked at as a literary and political work. It's religious aspects have obscured these underlying themes.
In "The Gospel According to Lilith" the author looks at all aspects of the bible and connects all the dots: God had a wife, her name was Lilith. Jesus had a family and a wife. Judas was God's favorite disciple. But most importantly I argue that the bible is a political document detailing what kind of political systems the earlier framers thought was best. From these political views come notions of good and evil and is at the core of what the bible is really all about. I argue that the bible was written as a radical, egalitarian document written by the Israelite founding fathers who felt this was God's true political plan for peace and harmony.
